Mickie James Confirmed for TNA Bound for Glory Amid Big Card
TNA has added another major attraction to Bound for Glory, with Mickie James now confirmed to appear as the promotion builds toward its biggest event of the year. The reveal came during Thursday’s episode of Impact, when a vignette teased the return of a familiar name with a sequence longtime fans immediately recognized.
The video featured an older TNA logo on a crate before it opened to a bright beam of light. When the light faded, a white cowgirl hat and a denim jacket were shown, and a woman reached for the hat and placed it on her head. As James’ “Hardcore Country” entrance theme played, the message became clear: one of the most decorated women in company history is heading to Bound for Glory.
James has a long history with TNA across multiple runs. She first joined the promotion in 2002, back when the company was operating under the National Wrestling Alliance banner. After roughly a year, she left for WWE, where she went on to become one of the era’s most recognizable women’s stars.
Her next TNA run began in 2010, and she quickly entered a feud with Madison Rayne. That rivalry led to a title victory in April 2011, when James defeated Rayne to win the TNA Knockouts Championship. With that win, she became the first woman in pro wrestling history to hold the TNA Knockouts Championship, the WWE Women’s Championship and the WWE Divas Championship.
James went on to become a five-time Knockouts champion, strengthening her place among the defining names in the division’s history. She later returned again from 2021 to 2023, adding another chapter to her relationship with the company. Earlier this year, she was involved in a program against the Elegance Brand at No Surrender and on the Impact episodes that followed.
Her latest appearance also comes after another milestone in her TNA story. In 2025, James was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame, a fitting honor for a performer whose career has been closely tied to several important moments in the promotion’s women’s division.
Bound for Glory card loaded with title matches
James’ appearance is only one piece of a stacked Bound for Glory lineup. The event is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 11, at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, and four championships are set to be contested on the show.
- A six-way scramble for the vacant TNA X Division Championship featuring Fabian Aichner, KC Navarro, Cedric Alexander, Rich Swann, Ryan Nemeth and BDE.
- Xia Brookside defending the Knockouts Championship against Indi Hartwell.
- A four-way match for the TNA International Championship with Mustafa Ali, Jason Hotch, John Skyler and Special Agent Zero.
- Nic Nemeth defending the TNA World Championship against Leon Slater.
Elsewhere on the card, Ricky Sosa is set to face Eddie Edwards, while Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw will meet The Hardys in a Falls Count Anywhere match. A Call Your Shot Gauntlet is also scheduled, with the winner earning a future championship opportunity.
With a Hall of Famer returning to the spotlight and several important matches already announced, Bound for Glory is shaping up as a significant night for TNA. James’ involvement adds another layer of intrigue to a show that already has championship stakes, established names and a chance for breakout performances across the card.
