SBIR GRANT APPLICATION PROCESS
SBIR program is started in 1982 by government of America. SBIR stands for small business innovation research .SBIR programs help for creating small business. There are eleven agencies that work under federal government they have SBIR program every agency work with the advice of congress they give small business administrator for SBIR estimated budge of SBIR is $100 million.
1) Feasibility and proof of concept:
The objective of Phase 1 is to establish the technical merit, feasibility, and commercial potential of the small business. Phase I awards normally do not exceed $150,000 total costs for 6 months (SBIR)
2) Research and development:
The objective of Phase 2 is to continue the R/R&D efforts initiated in Phase1.and also not not stop funding and look at their technical merit as well commercial potential .Phase II awards normally do not exceed $1,000,000 total costs for 2 years.
The objective of Phase III,is for the small business to pursue commercialization objectives resulting from the Phase I/II R/R&D activities. The NIH SBIR/STTR programs do not fund Phase III, and NIH does not generally provide any Phase III funding to small businesses.
